In-Band Full-Duplex RF Front-End

Overview

ㅤㅤIn-Band Full-Duplex (IBFD) radio systems represent a transformative leap in wireless communication, allowing devices to transmit and receive signals on the same frequency channel simultaneously. Our lab is dedicated to overcoming the critical challenges associated with IBFD, primarily the complex task of self-interference cancellation (SIC). Without effective self-interference mitigation, the transmitted signal can easily overwhelm the receiver, obscuring the desired incoming data and reducing the system's overall performance. To address this problem, we are pioneering advanced techniques in both analog and digital domains, innovating in areas such as active canceller, high isolation antenna, and duplexer. Our work integrates these methods to create IBFD systems that adapt dynamically to changing environments and interference patterns, optimizing performance under real-world conditions. By breaking through the conventional half-duplex communication paradigm, our IBFD research paves the way for faster, more efficient, and more responsive wireless systems that can support the demands of modern connectivity and beyond. Our lab is pushing the boundaries of what IBFD technology can achieve, envisioning a future where truly full-duplex wireless communication becomes a foundational standard in advanced communication networks.
